A woman serving a life sentence for the murder of her husband faces a parole board in which her upbringing, abusive relationship, act of homicide, and the subsequent trial incarceration are dramatized with the help of a Greek Chorus of four prisoners serving identical sentences.

When he sees his old high school sweetheart and just-announced Golden Globe nominee, Dahlia, on television, he moves to Los Angeles and feigns a life-threatening illness in an attempt to win her back to him.
